Exploring the edges of creative technology, together

From industry forecasting to hands-on digital transformation, Future Makers Week 2024 provided a week-long event for creators to engage in dialogue, learn, and experiment with cutting-edge creative technology, all designed to help them thrive in Toronto’s vibrant creative ecosystem.

“We’re thrilled to bring Future Makers to life in Toronto this fall, offering creators a chance to explore cutting-edge innovations, engage with leading industry voices, and experiment with emerging technologies,” says Ramona Pringle, Future Makers co-founder, multi-media producer and associate professor of Media Production at The Creative School.

The sold-out October event showcased the many exhibitions and works emerging from Toronto’s creative sector, including the interactive immersive installation Artificial Nature: We Are Entanglement by Haru Ji and Graham Wakefield. These exhibits, along with a myriad of panels, workshops and discussions at Future Makers Week 2024 underpinned how the entertainment industry and the creative community are reimagining new and innovative ways in which technology and art can intersect. Topics covered in the symposium include The Future of Immersive and Digital Art, Fusing Gameplay and Healthcare, Active Creation with AI, Your 21st Century Career Trajectory, Biskaabiiyaang: Creating a Path Towards Healing and Reconciliation, and The Future of Entertainment.
